The name 'Border Terrier' is derived as follows:'Border' from the Border Hunt which works on the boarders of England and
Scotland and 'Terrier' from the French word terre,which means ground or soil.
The Border Terriers were originally bred as a working dog by the Border folk living between England and Scotland.
Border Terriers worked hard for their masters tackling fox,badger.otter,wild cat,rabbit ,rats.
